what is culture for?

In a recent conversation with a school leader, we talked about their school culture. She wondered why parents are afraid of backlash when they consider speaking up. “It’s not like we have done something like that before,” she said.

Yes, culture has everything to do with solid actions and consequences but also the way we think and behave that makes others feel (with or without evidence as proof). This is why culture is so pervasive and powerful. It goes beyond the tangible.

And because of that, it’s better to build the culture as a bridge instead of a wall.
