Yesterday was Valentine’s Day in western culture.
A tradition on this day in school is exchanging Valentine's cards in the classroom.
Honoring the tradition and celebrating it together are part of building a community that can have a real impact.
But why not use this opportunity to create real connections among children? For example, instead of giving a non-personalized card to friends, sharing a story about ourselves that we would like the others to know about us is one idea. Talking about our dreams when we grow up can be another one…
Cards are helpful in celebrating a tradition. But real human connection never comes from a card.
It’s from our heart.
Happy Belated Valentine’s Day!
