It’s a metaphor. A group of parents come together trying to figure out what we could do to help.What brings us together is that our children attend the same school.Advocacy and volunteering are the responsibilities that we take upon ourselves as community members.
Among all the things that we could talk about:challenges our school is facing, issues that we could help to resolve, the mindset, personal goals of doing the work, and the collective goal that we need to agree upon, what comes first?
Having a space to imagine and get ourselves excited can be helpful moving forward. Our dreams often tell us what we value, who we want to be and how we want to make it come true.
Helpful dreams come from a deeper understanding of the reality that we are facing as a community. Until then, it’s going to be challenging to talk about anything that truly matters.
