There is a well-known saying: if you try to be for everybody, you will be for nobody. When we say that we set out to change everything, we end up changing nothing.
The question, "What change do you seek to make?" prompts us to articulate. When we think that changing everything is the goal, chances are we aren't sure what the real problem is we want to solve.
It might be because we want to avoid facing the real problem head-on or because, deep down inside, we don't believe we can actually make change happen and are afraid.
Putting ourselves on the hook and committing to seek the change is one step closer to making it happen.
