blind men and an elephant

It’s the story of how a group of blind men came across an elephant they had never “seen” before and learned about by touching it. Each described a part of the elephant, believing that’s all there is to the animal. Because of their limited experiences, they thought others who described it differently were dishonest and just wanted to argue and disagree.

To a certain degree, we are all like these blind men with limited knowledge, understanding, and lived experiences. Instead of boasting, we are here to learn to see “the elephant” and each other.

Our limits don’t define us, but what we do about them does.
