Everyone wants to be heard when speaking up. There are two ways to know that people have listened to us.
One is someone following up and addressing what we mentioned, even if they disagree. We receive a response.
The other is a change that occurred after we spoke up, solved the issues, and produced a positive outcome we had hoped for. Someone validates our thoughts and agrees with our concerns.
Both prove that people heard us. But if we want others to agree, that's different from wanting to be heard.
