Generous feedback connects us.
It connects because people who has received it would find it helpful. It’s rooted in our understanding towards the others. People feel seen, heard, and understood from our feedback.
Feedback may not always connect. Sometimes, we use feedback to express ourselves. Feedback meets our need for self-expression.
There is nothing wrong with meeting our need for self-expression. But it might offer no help at all towards the others.
Having an awareness around feedback helps us set expectations on our own action and how people would respond towards it.
