A reward system is an effective way for a community, system or group to promote the desired values, behaviors and interaction among people.
As human beings, we notice a reward system wherever we go. For example, we are aware about our own status and the status of others in a social setting over the benefits that the others get while we don’t or vice versa, to learn how the reward system plays.
Understanding how it works is helpful to think about the kind of reward system we are trying to create: the kind that aligns with the change we seek to make and benefits people who want the same.
Besides the alignment with purpose and goals, the reward system often informs people about our beliefs and worldview: are we walk the walk and talk the talk?
